AC 2012-3672: NOVEL CHEMICAL REACTORS IN THE CURRICULUM: AN INSTRUCTIONAL MODULE

Dr. Rebecca K. Toghiani, Mississippi State University

Dr. Rebecca K. Toghiani is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Mississippi State Uni- versity. She received her B.S.ChE, M.S.ChE, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She received the 1996 Dow Outstanding New Faculty Award and the 2005 Outstand- ing Teaching Award from the ASEE Southeastern Section. A John Grisham Master Teacher at MSU, she was also an inaugural member of the Bagley College of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Teachers. She has also been recognized at MSU with the 2001 Outstanding Faculty Woman Award, the 2001 Hearin Professor of Engineering award, and the 1999 College of Engineering Outstanding Engineering Educator Award.

Dr. Carlen Henington, Mississippi State University

Dr. Carlen Henington is a nationally certified School Psychologist and is an associate professor in School Psychology at Mississippi State University. She completed her doctoral work at Texas A&M University and her internship at the Monroe Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. She received the Texas A&M Educational Psychology Distinguished Dissertation Award in 1997, the Mississippi State University Golden Key National Honor Society Out- standing Faculty Member Award in 2000, the Mississippi State University Phi Delta Kappa Outstanding Teaching Award in 1998, and the College of Education Service Award in 2010. She has worked as a con- sultant to Mississippi Department of Education to address disproportionality and has provided technical assistance to schools across the state. She has served as a program reviewer for the American Psycho- logical Association and for the National Association for School Psychologists for more than 8 years. Additional areas of research include evaluation of effective teaching and program administration at the post-secondary levels.
